Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Perform complex accounting duties, including month-end journal entries, reconciliations, budgets, and financial reporting.
• Analyze moderately to highly complex data sets to determine appropriate courses of action and ensure error-free results.
• Research and analyze selective data sets or accounts pertaining to specific functional areas of accounting.
• Conduct business process improvements, including root cause analysis and recommendation development.
• Act as an accounting liaison and business partner to non-accounting business groups.
• Provide indirect supervision, training, and mentorship to junior accounting partners and team members.
• Communicate effectively with field partners, corporate support staff, and senior management regarding accounting issues.

Requirements

• 4-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current CPA certification.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience, including progressively increasing responsibility in two or more functional areas.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles equivalent to a college-level Intermediate Accounting course.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Access) and 10-key by touch.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks within established timeframes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous working experience with Oracle financial software.
• Experience in a retail environment.
• Previous employment or experience working with a Big 4 accounting firm.
