Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations across North America and Europe, including bank reconciliations, journal entries, and intercompany transactions.
• Manage multi-country payroll processing and annual payroll reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including vendor payments and contractor disbursements across multiple currencies.
• Prepare and maintain amortization schedules, prepaid expenses, and capital expenditures.
• Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes, including the preparation of financial reports for senior leadership and the board.
• Manage tax filings and reconciliations, including HST/GST, Ontario EHT, and WSIB.
• Support annual audits and coordinate documentation for external auditors.
• Continuously improve accounting systems and processes to increase accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, specifically involving multi-entity, multi-currency, and international operations.
• Proven experience managing payroll and accounting platforms across different countries.
• Proficiency in Office 365 and Microsoft Teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment and work extended hours during peak reporting periods.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA designation or equivalent.
• Experience with NetSuite, HUMI, DEEL, or Tipalti.
• Bilingualism in English and Spanish or German.
• Familiarity with Spanish tax regulations or Spanish GAAP (PGC).
• Experience in the esports, gaming, or media-entertainment industries.
• Knowledge of public company reporting requirements and SOX compliance.
