Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to streamline accounting workflows and enhance data analysis
• Design, recommend, and implement automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and improve close efficiency
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close deliverables
• Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements and assist with external audits, including SOX compliance and internal controls documentation
• Prepare monthly consolidation and elimination journal entries involving multiple currencies and intercompany activity
• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members on accounting topics and best practices

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a public company or Big 4/national firm environment
• Familiarity with automation and AI/ML tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) and a willingness to apply them to accounting processes
• Experience supporting or participating in SOX compliance and internal controls over financial reporting
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, lookups) and comfort working with large datasets
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Licensed CPA or CPA candidate
• Real estate accounting experience or exposure to inventory-based business models
• Experience with NetSuite or other enterprise ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, Workday)
• Revenue recognition and/or consolidation experience in a multi-entity structure
• Experience building or improving automated reconciliation or close management workflows
