Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Participate in monthly financial closeout activities and prepare monthly financial entries.
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate refinery expense accounting.
• Assist in the development of the refinery’s annual expense budget and perform monthly updates and variance analysis.
• Support the development and implementation of new accounting procedures, systems, and financial applications.
• Assist with special projects and provide backup for other accounting functions as required.
• Participate in the completion of the biennial Solomon Benchmarking Survey.
• Communicate effectively with refinery management, operational departments, and other MPC locations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (Accounting degree preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting or finance experience.
• Experience working with large ERP systems.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in MPC Refinery Accounting.
• Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI.
• Proficiency with SAP and BW.
