Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and integrity of accounting information through transaction reconciliation and financial reporting
• Prepare and post journal entries, including re-class, monthly recurring, and other entries
• Prepare and analyze account reconciliations and record daily bank account transactions
• Review and reconcile financial information from various systems, including membership databases and donor systems
• Maintain fixed assets systems and depreciation schedules
• Assist with sales tax filings, audits, and the preparation of Form 990
• Support the Controller and VP of Finance with budgeting, forecasting, and annual financial audits
• Serve as backup for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• 5 years of relevant accounting experience
• 3 years of experience working with accounting systems
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and spreadsheet skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment
• Demonstrated acceptance of the organization's Statement of Faith and a strong Christian testimony

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP
