Senior Accountant, Indirect Tax

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and file state and local indirect tax reports including sales and use tax, property tax, and business licenses on monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules
• Maintain compliance calendars to ensure timely tax permit registrations and required filings
• Review system transactional data to verify proper tax treatment, investigate discrepancies, research applicable tax law, and adjust accruals and return data files
• Research product taxability by jurisdiction and summarize findings for stakeholders
• Respond to inquiries from tax authorities, vendors, and customers; maintain documentation and required records
• Perform general ledger account analysis and reconciliations for assigned key accounts
• Assist with month-end close activities and resolve accounting discrepancies efficiently

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience
• Experience with indirect tax compliance, sales and use tax, and multi-entity reporting
• General ledger reconciliation and month-end close experience
• Strong analytical, statistical examination, and tax research skills
• Proficiency with AI tools and technologies to enhance workflows
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
