Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Review and post journal entries and reconciliations prepared by Junior and Staff Accountants.
• Prepare complex journal entries, including accruals, allocations, and correcting entries.
• Perform advanced balance sheet account reconciliations and conduct in-depth variance analysis.
• Ensure all financial transactions adhere to GAAP, SOX, and relevant federal and state regulations.
• Act as a liaison with internal departments and external auditors to support audit requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency.
• Contribute to the automation of accounting processes and support financial system upgrades.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff to support their professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with 3+ years of accounting experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree in a related business field with 5+ years of experience.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with accounting and cash flow management.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Windows/PC environments.
• Knowledge of Oracle software, ERP systems, or GL reconciliation tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA Certification.
• Experience within the Credit Card Processing or Bankcard industry.
