Responsibilities

• Own Garage’s books in QuickBooks Online, including financial statements, account reconciliations, and month-end close
• Lead GAAP accrual accounting across AP, AR, payroll coordination, vendor payments, and sales commissions
• Reconcile marketplace transactions, payments, settlements, and funds movement
• Build and improve accounting processes, close calendars, and internal controls
• Partner with the Finance Lead to provide reliable accounting inputs for business decision-making
• Identify and resolve accounting operations issues and prepare for future audits

Requirements

• 3+ years of accounting experience in a lean or high-growth environment
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Strong experience with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
• Strong knowledge of GAAP accrual accounting
• Excellent reconciliation skills across multiple bank accounts and payment flows
• Ability to build and document accounting processes
• Ability to operate in an ambiguous, fast-moving, early-stage environment

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or CPA-track
• Experience in marketplaces, fintech, payments, or lending
• Experience at an early-stage startup or small finance team
• Experience preparing for audits or diligence requests
• Experience implementing accounting systems or payroll workflows
