Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS
• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and provisions
• Monitor and analyze gross margins by product, supplier, and customer
• Ensure correct VAT treatment of pharmaceutical products and prepare VAT returns
• Manage pharmaceutical inventory accounting, including batch/lot tracking and expiry monitoring
• Manage provisions for expired, near-expiry, slow-moving, and obsolete stock
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and internal/external audits
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff
• Work closely with supply chain, sales, regulatory, and operations teams

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 4–7 years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, inventory accounting, and UAE VAT
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
• Experience in pharmaceutical distribution, healthcare, or FMCG is highly preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA, or CMA
• Audit experience and regulatory exposure within the healthcare sector
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
