Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements ensuring compliance with GAAP and statutory accounting principles
• Ensure compliance with all relevant insurance regulations, including state and federal reporting requirements
• Monitor and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
• Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits
• Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on complex accounting issues

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Strong understanding of GAAP, statutory accounting principles, and insurance regulations
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or CPA candidate
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics
• Background in P&C or mortgage insurance sector
