Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Complete general ledger activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closings
• Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and mitigate financial risks
• Assist with 10-K/10-Q financial reporting and footnote updates
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to inquiries
• Perform discounted cash flow analysis for operating liabilities
• Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing, including invoice coding, customer setup, and payment application
• Manage specialized accounting tasks such as royalty accounting, workers compensation, and affiliate/supplier accounting

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
• At least 5 years of accounting experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong analytical skills and acute attention to detail
• Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism
• Must be a United States Citizen

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with Oracle applications
• Experience in the coal industry
• MBA or equivalent degree
• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA
