Senior Academic Coach

Responsibilities

• Assign student caseloads to Academic Coaches and assess complex or difficult cases
• Analyze and interpret reports on student degree progression to make data-informed decisions
• Implement retention strategies and deliver high-quality supports, programs, and services to address barriers to student success
• Present at meetings, workshops, and other venues to disseminate CSU’s retention strategies to internal and external stakeholders
• Represent the university at various recruitment events, meetings, and committees
• Identify appropriate measures to assist staff in providing student assistance

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in education, student personnel services, counseling, guidance, or a related field
• 5 years of progressive experience in academic advising, graduation success coaching, or student services
• Proven supervisor or leadership experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field of study
• Experience in professional development related to academic advising and coaching
• Experience working with diverse student populations and participating in student recruitment efforts
• Proficiency in academic advising, coaching, and planning software
• Experience working with integrated software systems as an end user
