About the role
Responsibilities
- Advise assigned students, including specialized populations such as transfer students, on academic, career, and life goals.
- Develop and maintain deep expertise in the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing (MNSON) curriculum and University Core requirements.
- Conduct individual and group advising sessions to support timely graduation and post-graduate planning.
- Assist with the evaluation and awarding of credit for transfer coursework, study abroad, and external summer courses.
- Plan and implement advising programs and outreach initiatives, including orientation, academic alerts, and probation advising.
- Prepare and deliver graduation audits for assigned students.
- Collaborate with department chairs, program directors, and administrative staff to ensure consistent communication of program requirements.
- Mentor and train new student affairs staff, including academic advisors and project coordinators.
- Support the execution of school events such as Open House, Commencement, and Honors and Pinning ceremonies.
Requirements
- Master's degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, or a related field.
- Three years of experience in academic advising.
- Experience in transfer-student support.
- Experience in orientation at a four-year institution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with student information systems and articulation resources.
- Experience with data management and producing reports.
