About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children and young people undergoing EHC Needs Assessments and Reviews
  • Coordinate multi-agency input from Education, Health and Social Care professionals
  • Ensure statutory timescales are met in compliance with the SEND Code of Practice
  • Communicate professionally with parents, schools, settings and external partners
  • Review, quality-check and update education, health and care information as part of the EHCP process
  • Attend and contribute to Annual Review meetings and SEND Panels
  • Ensure accurate documentation, case notes and decision-making records

Requirements

  • Experience as a SEND Case Officer or similar Local Authority role
  • Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice (2015)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to analyse multi-agency reports for accuracy and compliance
  • Confident using case management systems and handling sensitive information
