About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children and young people undergoing EHC Needs Assessments and Reviews
- Coordinate multi-agency input from Education, Health and Social Care professionals
- Ensure statutory timescales are met in compliance with the SEND Code of Practice
- Communicate professionally with parents, schools, settings and external partners
- Review, quality-check and update education, health and care information as part of the EHCP process
- Attend and contribute to Annual Review meetings and SEND Panels
- Ensure accurate documentation, case notes and decision-making records
Requirements
- Experience as a SEND Case Officer or similar Local Authority role
- Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice (2015)
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to analyse multi-agency reports for accuracy and compliance
- Confident using case management systems and handling sensitive information
