About the role

Responsibilities

  • Attend to children's personal needs and implement related programmes, including social, health, physical hygiene, and welfare matters
  • Work with the class teacher and Inclusion Manager to support person-centred planning and targets for SEND children
  • Liaise with external SEND or health professionals to ensure advice on individual provision is effectively implemented
  • Supervise and support SEND children to ensure their safety and access to learning
  • Establish good relationships with all children, acting as a positive role model
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all children within the academy

Requirements

  • Qualifications to GCSE Level standard or equivalent
  • Knowledge and understanding of pupils with social and emotional difficulties that may impact behaviour
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly both verbally and in writing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft software
  • Understanding of the social issues facing students from disadvantaged backgrounds
