SEN Teacher

Responsibilities

• Identify students requiring SEN support through various assessment methods and liaise with parents, teachers, and external specialists
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for Cycle 3 students, ensuring alignment with IGCSE and A-Level expectations
• Provide high-quality, differentiated instruction and intervention both in-class and through withdrawal sessions
• Collaborate with subject teachers to ensure effective differentiation of the British curriculum and implementation of accommodations
• Prepare and manage applications for IGCSE and A-Level exam access arrangements in accordance with JCQ guidelines
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, interventions, and communications with stakeholders
• Contribute to the school's commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or a relevant subject area
• PGCE or B.Ed with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) from the UK or an equivalent British-trained system
• Specialist qualification in Special Educational Needs (e.g., NASENCO, Master's in Special Education)
• Minimum of 3 years of full-time teaching experience as a qualified SEN Teacher or Coordinator within a British curriculum school
• Proven experience working with secondary school students (Cycle 3) with needs such as dyslexia, ADHD, and ASD
• Experience managing exam access arrangements for IGCSE and A-Levels
• Proficiency in English (IELTS)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with specific exam boards such as Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel
• Strong understanding of assistive technology for SEN support
• Experience working within the UAE educational regulatory framework (ADEK)
