SEN Learning Support Lead

Responsibilities

• Oversee student identification and assessment, coordinating with specialists and external evaluators.
• Lead the development, implementation, and quality assurance of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
• Monitor student progress through regular data review and adjust learning accommodations accordingly.
• Manage SEN learning support staff, providing instructional coaching and professional development.
• Partner with online educators to align and support the blended learning experience.
• Uphold and embed the center's Child Protection Policy and act as a designated safeguarding contact.
• Cultivate collaborative partnerships with families and coordinate with external specialists like occupational therapists and psychologists.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or Education (Master's degree strongly preferred).
• Recognized teaching license (e.g., PGCE, US state license, or international equivalent).
• Minimum of five years of teaching experience, with at least three years in special education or learning support.
• Demonstrated experience in a SEN Coordinator, Learning Support Lead, or equivalent leadership role.
• Strong background in IEP/ILP frameworks and differentiated assessment practices.
• Proven experience working with students from Grade 5 through high school.
• Fluency in English is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs Coordination (SENCO/SEND).
• Experience in or a strong understanding of blended, hybrid, and online learning environments.
• Proficiency in Arabic.
• Familiarity with online curriculum platforms.
