About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead finance operations for the ATS Grants portfolio, managing nearly $5M in active awards and $2M in leverage commitments.
- Conduct monthly financial projections, burn-rate analyses, and reconciliations across the portfolio.
- Develop and launch a Rural and Small Towns microgrants mechanism to issue 70+ small grants annually.
- Design and implement financial workflows, tools, and templates to enhance grant performance and compliance.
- Ensure all financial practices follow internal controls, procurement standards, and award terms.
- Prepare accurate financial reports for internal leadership and external funders.
- Provide financial oversight and monitoring for subgrantees, microgrant recipients, and vendors.
- Offer targeted training to seminary staff and partners on compliance and financial best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of direct experience in grants or nonprofit financial management.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated experience building or improving financial systems and workflows.
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification.
- 5+ years of experience managing micro-grant or small-grant programs.
- Direct experience configuring grant management, accounting, or business analytics software.
