About the role

About the Company

fab2 was founded by Sam Zeloof and Jim Keller. The team designs all the hardware and software needed to make chips, building the fabs, tools, and components themselves.

Responsibilities

  • Generate detailed documentation including SOPs, technical reports, and maintenance plans
  • Respond to tool maintenance calls and lead equipment bring-up
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups to resolve maintenance issues and improve reliability
  • Monitor SPC alerts and tool alarm logs for proactive continuous improvement
  • Drive tool matching and yield improvement through engineering improvements
  • Manage spare parts inventory levels for critical items
  • Support and train maintenance personnel

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of applicable experience
  • Strong understanding of wafer fabrication processes (etch, deposition, lithography, metrology)
  • Proficiency with Onshape, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software
  • Familiarity with equipment control systems, vacuum systems, robotics, and cleanroom protocols
  • Proficiency in data analysis, SPC, and root cause methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of vacuum systems and helium leak detection
  • Familiarity with endpoint detection tools (SEM, ellipsometry, spectroscopy)
  • Experience with OEMs such as ASML, Applied Materials, Lam Research, or Tokyo Electron
