Semiconductor Equipment Engineer

fab2 was founded by Sam Zeloof and Jim Keller. We design all the hardware and software needed to make chips and we make the fabs, tools, and components ourselves.

Responsibilities

• Generate accurate and detailed documentation including SOPs, technical reports, and maintenance plans
• Respond to tool maintenance calls and lead tool recovery efforts
• Collaborate with cross-functional groups to resolve maintenance issues and improve reliability
• Establish and respond to SPC alerts and monitor tool alarm logs
• Drive tool matching and yield improvement through design and engineering improvements
• Contribute to continuous improvement programs to maximize MTBF
• Manage spare parts inventory levels for critical items
• Support and train maintenance personnel

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of applicable experience
• Strong understanding of wafer fabrication processes (etch, deposition, lithography, metrology)
• Proficiency with Onshape, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software
• Familiarity with equipment control systems, vacuum systems, robotics, and cleanroom protocols
• Proficiency in data analysis, SPC, and root cause methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of vacuum systems and helium leak detection
• Familiarity with endpoint detection tools (SEM, ellipsometry, spectroscopy)
• Experience with OEMs such as ASML, Applied Materials, Lam Research, or Tokyo Electron
