SEM Research Intern - Chromium-6 in Paint Layers

Responsibilities

• Build upon existing research regarding paint sample preparation
• Prepare paint samples for analysis using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)
• Investigate the visibility and detectability of chromium-6 within paint layers
• Perform measurements using the SEM
• Compare SEM results with existing laboratory analysis results
• Evaluate the reliability and applicability of the SEM method
• Process results into a research report or advisory document

Requirements

• Student in Chemistry, Applied Science, Chemical Technology, Technical Physics, or Laboratory Research
• Interest in chemistry, materials, and analytical techniques
• Accurate and structured working style
• Ability to work independently while knowing when to ask for help
• Interest in practical, applied research
