Security Systems Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on security systems according to approved plans
• Restore systems by replacing faulty modules or components
• Record all maintenance and repair activities in the Maximo electronic information system
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities and test results
• Prepare and submit reports to institutional representatives
• Conduct ongoing inventory checks of electronic security systems and spare parts
• Inspect and test items returning from repair facilities
• Comply with all local safety and security rules and regulations
• Assist in project work at the Port of Montreal
• Provide on-call after-hours services as required

Requirements

• Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in a related field or college diploma in a technologist program
• Knowledge of RF, CATV, CCTV, PA/intercom, and automated control systems
• Proficiency with communications equipment and personal/commercial computers
• Experience with MS Office software suite
• Fluency in French is essential
• Ability to obtain or hold federal government Enhanced Reliability Level (Level 1) clearance
