Security Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on card access, CCTV, burglar alarm, and electronic fire alarm systems at customer sites
• Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures using technical manuals, part manuals, and bulletins
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and operational product manuals
• Provide high-level customer service and communicate effectively with staff to ensure satisfaction
• Complete service acknowledgements and obtain customer signatures via mobile devices
• Provide recommendations and quotes for facility efficiency and upselling opportunities
• Remain available for on-call emergency service as required

Requirements

• 2+ years of documented experience with Security Solutions (Card Access, Intrusion, and CCTV)
• Proficiency with test equipment, including multi-meters and digital analyzers
• Experience installing, inspecting, repairing, and programming security systems
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, submittals, and technical schematics
• Physical ability to lift and move equipment weighing 50-70 lbs
• Ability to work in difficult positions, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and working in confined spaces
• Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company requirements
• Knowledge of applicable NFPA standards
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and potential overnight travel

Preferred Qualifications

• NICET Certifications
• Previous experience with fire alarm systems
