About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, delivery, and refinement of a new workplace violence prevention training and education program.
  • Facilitate training in various formats, including classroom, virtual delivery, physical technique demonstrations, simulations, and eLearning.
  • Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders and leadership across the hospital network to identify program improvements.
  • Support security-related workplace incidents and participate in debriefs to identify training opportunities.
  • Analyze and assess training metrics and quality indicators, presenting findings to UHN Leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Work alongside Security Operations management to review metrics and ensure operational standards are maintained.

Requirements

  • University or college degree in security, law enforcement, criminal justice, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of security supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of adult education or equivalent experience.
  • Valid Ontario Security License (PSISA).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of recognized security industry certifications such as CHSS, CHPA, or CPP.
  • Certifications related to adult learner education, coaching, or mentorship.
  • Experience with healthcare-centric de-escalation programs.
  • Experience working within a unionized workforce.
  • Proficiency in data management using Power BI or similar platforms.
