Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Patrol university premises to protect persons and property, maintain order, and enforce regulations and applicable laws
• Monitor surveillance equipment, inspect buildings, and respond to emergencies or disturbances
• Secure facilities and personnel by patrolling property and inspecting access points
• Prevent loss or damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policies and procedures
• Complete detailed reports by recording observations, interviewing witnesses, and documenting surveillance activities
• Maintain building and equipment controls through routine inspections and preventive maintenance

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of related security experience
• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Eligibility to obtain a Maryland Special Police Officer license within 6 months of employment
• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Conversational Spanish skills
