Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Maintain an attentive and approachable presence while enforcing policies
• Deliver excellent customer service to guests, staff, and vendors
• Maintain clear, accurate administrative logs at the front desk
• Control access for tenants, visitors, or vendors
• Enforce museum rules and policies professionally
• Monitor security cameras and conduct patrols to prevent theft
• Respond to incidents and emergencies and record data for management
• Provide a visible security presence and rotate between assigned posts

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• High School diploma or GED
• Ability to acquire and maintain a valid Illinois Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, complete foot patrols, and work in inclement weather
• Willingness to work flexible schedules and all shifts

Preferred Qualifications

• 7-8 years of security, customer service, or public-facing experience
• Experience in museums, hospitals, retail centers, or high-traffic public venues
• Bilingual skills
• Availability for evening, overnight, and weekend shifts
