Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Monitor and patrol assigned areas to ensure a safe environment for guests and employees
• Patrol inside and outside perimeters and report potential safety issues to the Director of Security
• Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policies
• Respond to emergency situations and provide necessary assistance to employees and guests
• Prepare written reports and maintain surveillance via alarm systems or video cameras
• Perform first aid or CPR as required
• Protect company assets against theft, assault, fire, and other safety issues
• Follow procedures for fire prevention, property patrol, traffic control, and accident investigations

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One to two years in a public contact position, preferably in an upscale hotel
• Proven experience as a security officer or guard
• Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety
• Excellent surveillance, observation, and communication skills
• Ability to stand or walk for a minimum eight-hour shift
• Ability to multitask and handle stressful situations in a fast-paced environment
• Physical ability to twist, reach, bend, climb, and carry objects
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
