Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus on foot or in non-patrol vehicles to observe and report criminal activity
• Provide basic line security functions, including interior and exterior building security checks
• Manage building lockdowns and openings to preserve campus security
• Monitor perimeter control by managing the access of pedestrians and vehicles
• Provide security presence for campus special events, social gatherings, and sporting events
• Respond to incidents and complete detailed, accurate non-emergency incident reports
• Perform other duties as prescribed by the Chief of Police or immediate supervisor

Requirements

• High School education or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in security or police work
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Possession of a valid driver's license
• Physical ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
• Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds of force constantly
• IT literacy and basic proficiency with standard office equipment
• Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal abilities
