Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and security services to students, staff, faculty, and visitors during the 3rd shift (11pm - 7am)
• Patrol campus grounds by vehicle or foot and control access to campus and the Greenway during closing hours
• Respond to calls for service, emergency alarms, fire alarms, or reports of suspicious activity
• Enforce parking regulations, including towing, auto-booting, and providing basic automotive assistance like jump starts or tire changes
• Secure buildings by checking doors and windows and managing interior/exterior lighting schedules
• Perform essential duties during inclement weather or emergency situations as required by management

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current North Carolina Driver License with a clear driving history
• Ability to walk extended distances, stand for long periods, climb stairs, and run if necessary
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to navigate physical obstacles and work in various weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in security or law enforcement
