Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and security services to students, staff, faculty, and visitors through campus patrols by vehicle or foot
• Respond to calls for service, emergency situations, fire or intrusion alarms, and requests for assistance
• Control access to campus and the Greenway during closing hours and ensure buildings are secure
• Enforce parking regulations, including towing and auto-booting, and provide basic automotive assistance such as jump starts or tire changes
• Provide traffic direction for campus events and assist with campus lighting for special activities
• Maintain detailed notes and logs for report writing and observe/retain details of occurrences
• Perform essential duties during inclement weather or emergency situations as required

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current NC Driver License with a clear driving history
• Ability to walk extended distances, stand for long periods, and climb stairs
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to operate company vehicles and navigate physical obstacles
• Maximum flexibility to work various shifts (1st, 2nd, or 3rd), weekends, holidays, and on a call-in status

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in security or law enforcement
