Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Deter criminal activity and misconduct
• Respond to alarms, calls of distress, or emergencies such as fire, injuries, or unauthorized persons
• Conduct periodic patrols to check for unsafe conditions, hazards, and security violations
• Prepare clear, concise, and accurate reports
• Operate access control systems and security software
• Demonstrate strong customer service skills and professional demeanor
• Manage multiple tasks and radio/telephone communications in high-pressure environments
• Stand and walk for long periods of time

Requirements

• Valid state licensing, if applicable
• 21 years of age
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test
• Proficiency with computers, email, and security software
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent surveillance and observation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior law enforcement, military, or corrections experience
• Two years of security or customer service experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or a related field
• Training in CPR and First Aid
