Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular security rounds of all campus property to ensure a secure environment
• Research, report, and track crimes and incidents using the RMS system
• Respond quickly and calmly to emergency situations and determine appropriate courses of action
• Maintain security of all keys and key access points
• Perform traffic safety duties, including issuing traffic and parking citations
• Complete daily activity reports, incident reports, and pass-on book documentation
• Address policy violations and maintain professional appearance and conduct
• Operate and maintain enforcement equipment and maintain Emergency Response certification

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to fire a weapon accurately and defend self/others with or without deadly force
• Physical ability to run, lift, and exert oneself physically for short periods
• Must pass a psychological evaluation according to state requirements
• Must successfully pass a background check and drug test

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous law enforcement and/or security training
• Successful completion of the Armed Guard Training Program
