Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular security rounds of all property to ensure a secure campus environment
• Research, report, and track crimes and incidents using the RMS system
• Maintain security of all keys and key access
• Respond quickly and calmly to emergency situations and determine proper courses of action
• Address policy violations and conduct traffic safety, including issuing parking citations
• Complete daily activity reports, incident reports, and maintain pass-on book information
• Maintain professional appearance and adhere to the officer code of conduct
• Operate and maintain enforcement equipment and maintain Emergency Response certification

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to fire a weapon accurately
• Ability to defend self and others with and without the use of deadly force
• Ability to pass a psychological evaluation according to state requirements
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test
• Ability to exert physical effort for short periods, such as running and lifting

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous law enforcement and/or security training
• Successful completion of the Armed Guard Training Program
