Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Enforce all laws, rules, and policies authorized by the Safety and Security Department to protect life and property.
• Perform alarm and patrol duties to prevent theft, vandalism, fire, and other unusual conditions.
• Conduct physical inspections of grounds and facilities and document results accurately.
• Investigate incidents on-site and provide clear, detailed reports.
• Control disturbances and assist staff in de-escalating situations.
• Manage access control by issuing visitor passes and searching participants for contraband.
• Provide vehicle transportation support and perform routine inspections on the GSA fleet.
• Maintain accurate logs for visitors, vendors, students, and vehicle transportation.
• Foster a safe environment free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One year of related security or safety experience.
• Proven experience working with youth.
• Valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
