Security Officer/Dispatcher

Responsibilities

• Maintain security at the University's main entrance, residence halls, or other assigned posts
• Patrol campus to ensure strict enforcement of state/local laws and University safety regulations
• Receive and transmit emergency radio and telephone messages pertaining to law enforcement and personnel
• Dispatch law enforcement or other personnel and equipment in response to service requirements
• Maintain accurate, legible, and timely logs of all radio dispatches and communications
• Operate DCI/NCIC computer terminals to enter and secure information on stolen vehicles, wanted persons, and criminal histories
• Manage the issuance and logging of keys and equipment to authorized University personnel
• Direct traffic for daily activities and special parking requests to ensure vehicular safety
• Enforce all parking rules, regulations, and standard operating procedures

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 1-2 years of experience in security or law enforcement (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Ability to operate DCI/NCIC computer systems
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid state driver's license
