Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Conduct watchperson rounds of university buildings and areas to ensure campus safety
• Report suspicious activity, persons, and conditions immediately
• Provide escorts to students, staff, and faculty members
• Provide general assistance to campus police officers
• Provide general information to university personnel and visitors
• Perform foot patrols on campus grounds in all weather conditions

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Successful background check
• Child Protection Clearances (Act 153)
• Motor Vehicle Records (MVR)
• Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
• Credit check
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior work experience in a security-related role
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress emergency situations
