Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Patrol the large campus on foot and in a vehicle to protect property, facilities, and people
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for Residents, Team Members, and visitors
• Assist Residents during emergency evacuations and other emergency situations, including those with mobility challenges
• Calmly communicate with Residents experiencing dementia or other cognitive impairments
• De-escalate difficult situations and direct the activities of others during emergencies
• Write and type clear, concise, and professional reports
• Handle highly confidential or sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA regulations

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid PA driver's license held for at least the past 2 years
• Proof of personal auto insurance and a clean driving record (no DUIs or serious violations)
• Ability to walk, run, and climb stairs throughout an 8-hour shift
• Ability to work outdoors in any type of weather and during inclement weather
• Basic computer skills to navigate websites, software, and databases
• Current CPR certification or the ability to obtain it upon hire
• Ability to pass background screens, physical exams, drug screens, and TB tests

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in security or law enforcement
• Relevant formal training in law enforcement
• Experience de-escalating difficult situations
