About the role
Responsibilities
- Patrol the large campus on foot and in a vehicle to protect property, facilities, and people
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for Residents, Team Members, and visitors
- Assist Residents during emergency evacuations and other emergency situations, including those with mobility challenges
- Calmly communicate with Residents experiencing dementia or other cognitive impairments
- De-escalate difficult situations and direct the activities of others during emergencies
- Write and type clear, concise, and professional reports
- Handle highly confidential or sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid PA driver's license held for at least the past 2 years
- Proof of personal auto insurance and a clean driving record (no DUIs or serious violations)
- Ability to walk, run, and climb stairs throughout an 8-hour shift
- Ability to work outdoors in any type of weather and during inclement weather
- Basic computer skills to navigate websites, software, and databases
- Current CPR certification or the ability to obtain it upon hire
- Ability to pass background screens, physical exams, drug screens, and TB tests
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in security or law enforcement
- Relevant formal training in law enforcement
- Experience de-escalating difficult situations
