Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily patrols and walkthroughs of campus buildings and grounds
• Lock and unlock buildings and inspect fire and access control alarm systems
• Monitor campus building conditions to prevent damage, theft, or hazards
• Investigate incidents, crimes, and complaints involving the College community
• Operate the Campus Security Communications Center by monitoring alarms and coordinating responses
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of incidents and communications

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to attend a Campus Security Officer Academy
• Ability to work 3rd shift (11pm-7am)
• Ability to meet College Motor Vehicle Use Policy requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in criminal justice or a related field
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in the safety and security field
