Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle
• Monitor entrances and exits to permit authorized persons and prevent unauthorized access
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Investigate and prepare detailed reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities
• Sound alarms or contact police/fire departments in case of emergencies
• Warn violators of rule infractions such as loitering or smoking
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
• Maintain written logs as required by the post

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (or 5 years of verifiable experience)
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid driver’s license (if driving company or customer-owned vehicles)
• Ability to operate radio/telephone equipment and console monitors
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screen
• Demonstrated ability to interact cordially with the public and mediate conflict

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience
• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic)
