Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, entrances, waiting areas, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points, screen visitors, and verify that staff, guests, and vendors follow entry requirements.
• Support staff and visitors with directions, general assistance, and de-escalation during tense interactions.
• Document observations and report concerns through proper communication channels.

Requirements

• Valid New York State Security Guard License.
• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience.
• Experience with access control or badge systems.
