Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Provide professional customer service to residents, visitors, and staff at a shelter location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, common areas, entrances, and perimeters to deter unwanted activity.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry to maintain site security.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm and professional manner.
• Document observations and report relevant details according to site-specific protocols.
• Assist with de-escalation and notify supervisors or emergency services when necessary.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to pass a background investigation and a drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with access control or badge systems.
• Previous experience in customer service roles.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet for reporting.
