Security Guard

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a professional presence
• Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols to ensure safety and security
• Monitor for suspicious activity, hazards, or policy violations
• Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, emergencies, and customer concerns
• De-escalate conflict situations and assist individuals in distress
• Coordinate with emergency responders including police, fire, and EMS personnel
• Complete detailed incident reports, daily logs, and emergency documentation
• Perform access control duties and verify authorized entry when required
• Utilize radios, mobile devices, and computer systems for communication and reporting

Requirements

• Valid Alberta Security License (or ability to obtain one)
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Legal authorization to work in Canada
• Ability to walk 18–20 km per shift and climb stairs regularly
• Flexible availability for day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions during emergencies

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous security experience
• First Aid/CPR Certification
• Experience working in customer-facing or high-traffic environments
• Familiarity with report writing and incident documentation
