Security Guard

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas to deter unauthorized entry and protect property
• Monitor and secure all entry control points to validate individuals upon entry
• Manage and de-escalate conflicts using sound judgment and discretion
• Control access to buildings and grounds in accordance with company policy
• Provide first aid, CPR, and emergency assistance as required
• Maintain familiarity with building layouts, emergency routes, and safety equipment locations
• Perform duties in both interior and exterior environments, including during inclement weather
• Remain on post until properly relieved and communicate relevant information to the incoming officer

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a security position (military or law enforcement experience accepted)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License
• DCJS certification as an unarmed security guard (01E) or prior law enforcement/military experience
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
• Ability to work 8–12 hour shifts

Preferred Qualifications

• Training in self-defense or physical intervention techniques
• Prior experience working in restricted or secured areas
• Prior experience in data center or facility security
