Security Guard - Campus

Responsibilities

• Protect and guard University property and maintain order among the public and UCSF community
• Monitor and control entry to restricted areas
• Inspect areas to prevent fires, accidents, and other hazards
• Direct visitors and answer questions concerning building or exhibit layouts
• Respond to incidents and perform other related safety duties as required

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid California Driver’s License
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Ability to work variable hours and days of the week onsite in San Francisco
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb stairs, and lift/carry up to 30 pounds
• Ability to obtain the following certifications within 6 months of hire: CPR, First Aid, CPI de-escalation, AED, and Clery training
• Excellent customer service, problem-solving, and communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more years of experience in the security field
• Military experience
• Valid California Guard Card
