Security Guard

Responsibilities

• Perform unarmed security patrols of hospital grounds on foot or in a vehicle
• Monitor CCTV, alarm systems, and control access/egress at hospital entrances
• Assist hospital staff with de-escalation and restraining combative individuals when necessary
• Document detailed observations, accidents, and suspicious activities in written reports
• Assist with emergency evacuations, including fires and medical emergencies
• Protect hospital property by observing departing personnel and preventing theft
• Respond to alarms and contact police or fire departments as required

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience in customer service or protective services (e.g., security, healthcare, military, or law enforcement)
• At least 18 years of age
• Valid driver's license (required if operating company or customer vehicles)
• Ability to operate radio, telephone equipment, and console monitors
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict mediation skills
• Ability to pass drug screening and meet healthcare-specific requirements (e.g., TB test and vaccinations)

Preferred Qualifications

• Military service in law enforcement, security, or combat arms roles
• Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice
• 8 or more years of military service
