Security GRC Analyst Intern

Responsibilities

• Support risk identification and assessment activities by gathering and analyzing data related to information security controls
• Assist with compliance assessments to evaluate adherence to security frameworks, regulatory requirements, and internal policies
• Help collect and organize evidence for audit activities, including documentation review and preliminary gap analysis
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of security documentation such as policies, procedures, and standards
• Assist in tracking and monitoring security and compliance metrics to help assess control effectiveness
• Collaborate with GRC team members on process improvement initiatives and special projects
• Research emerging cybersecurity trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Information Security, Risk Management, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
• Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and an interest in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Eagerness to learn and a proactive, collaborative attitude

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic awareness of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or SOC 2
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements like GDPR or PCI DSS
