Security Engineer

Responsibilities

• Administer and support GitHub repositories, organizations, and access controls
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions
• Support implementation of branching strategies and release workflows
• Enforce repository policies, permissions, and governance standards
• Integrate security controls into pipelines, including secrets handling and scanning
• Assist in the rollout and usage of GitHub Copilot and provide developer guidance
• Automate routine tasks to improve developer efficiency and reduce manual work
• Troubleshoot build, deployment, and pipeline issues
• Monitor pipeline performance and suggest improvements
• Maintain documentation and best practices for platform usage

Requirements

• 4-6 years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or platform support
• Solid development experience with the ability to write and understand code
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (Pipelines, Repos, Boards) and GitHub (repositories, Actions, workflows)
• Strong understanding of Git and branching strategies
• Proven experience working with CI/CD pipelines
• Basic scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages
• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot or similar developer productivity tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to Azure cloud services
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM)
• Basic understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Awareness of security practices within CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working in enterprise or large-scale team environments
