Security Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide support to a Security Operation Center for a federal agency
• Perform O&M support for hardware, Linux OS, and critical security tools
• Conduct vulnerability and compliance assessments using Tenable Security Center
• Manage SourceFIRE and web interfaces
• Utilize Splunk ES for security operations
• Create and maintain security baselines, dashboards, and monthly vulnerability reports
• Support the creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and CSIRT Wiki content
• Recommend improvements for cloud-based environments
• Provide on-call support as required

Requirements

• 10 years of technical system administration, operations and maintenance, or general cybersecurity experience
• Comprehensive knowledge of Windows and UNIX-based system administration
• Proficiency in network management and enterprise systems management
• Ability to maintain Linux-based operating systems
• Experience with IDS/IPS, log management, and enterprise vulnerability assessment systems
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
• Must be a US Citizen
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust Level 6 clearance

• Certifications such as CISSP, SSCP, CEH, CISM, GPEN, GWAPT, GSEC, OSCP, OSCE, or OSWE
