Security Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build and improve existing security detection mechanisms and automation frameworks
• Engage with owners of high-risk systems to identify and prioritize detection gaps
• Investigate anomalous or suspicious behavior identified in the detection engineering process
• Participate in adversary emulation activities to identify detection gaps

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in security engineering, computer science, cyber security, engineering, math, or other STEM discipline; OR 2+ years of professional experience in incident response, security operations, or security engineering
• Experience with modern programming languages such as Python, Go, C++, or Rust
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
• Must be able to work fully onsite

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience performing Incident Response or contributing to a CSIRT team
• Experience building ETL pipelines from diverse systems for threat detection
• Ability to support and manage services in a Kubernetes (k8s) environment
• Knowledge of traditional Security Operations environments and SIEM systems
• Knowledge of common Red Team and Adversarial attack trends and techniques
• Familiarity with enterprise security controls for Windows, Linux, and macOS
