Security Engineer, Application Security

Responsibilities

• Conduct threat modeling sessions with product teams and design secure architectures for new features
• Own and evolve the application security program, including SAST/DAST scanning in CI/CD pipelines
• Partner with engineering teams to establish secure coding standards and reusable security patterns
• Design and recommend security features to help secure customer environments
• Integrate AI agents to increase security team velocity and minimize risk
• Lead security assessments and penetration testing of applications, AI services, and APIs
• Design security controls for protecting data pipelines, model training environments, and AI agents
• Research emerging threats in the AI/ML security landscape and build defenses against novel risks

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in application security engineering
• Experience securing large-scale production systems
• Technical expertise in at least two programming languages (Python, Java, Go, or JavaScript/TypeScript)
• Knowledge of SAST/DAST solutions, vulnerability management, and DevSecOps practices
• Strong understanding of developer workflows and developer experience
• Excellent communication skills for translating complex security concepts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in fast-growing startups or high-growth environments
• Experience with AI/ML security or securing LLM architectures
